CoCo Creatief

After a couple of accidents left me dealing with the effects of brain injury I was rather adrift. Discovering that I inherited the talent for painting from my mom’s side of the family was a life line. It helped me in so many ways during the later therapy sessions! Through this the desire to share those inspiring images with the world started to grow.

My youngest niece has trouble pronouncing my name, Corrie. This is short for Cornelia, but she calls me CoCo, and thus inspired me to create CoCo Creatief. With that label I come to you now. Wishing that you get pulled into a story, even if all you can hear is just the description to the art I create. I hope you get pulled into my story, for just a moment. It might be part of your story too, because the emotions behind the paintings are universal.

There is always light

Een streperige donkergroene achtergrond zorgt ervoor dat de kleurrijke, architectonische Strelitzia bloem goed in de schijnwerpers staat. Het gemodificeerde blad start het kleurrijke feestje met een gradient die van heldergroen, via geel naar een donker oranje loopt. Vanuit een centraal punt op dit blad schieten 5 helder oranje en 3 donkerblauwe kroonbladeren als vlammetjes de lucht in. De inspiratie om deze bloem te schilderen kwam in de week voor Pinksteren. Zeer passend want, de bloem staat ook wel symbool voor de Heilige Geest.

Tongues of Fire

This painting was created in a very short time at the end of a worship evening. When we started splitting up in little groups to pray for one another, an image came into my mind with such clarity that I did not hesitate. I grabbed my paint once more and created this dreamlike landscape with trees in whites, pinks and soft purples. The scripture that came with the image reads: “Where two or more are gathered in My Name, I will be with them”. Fun fact: I painted this upside down!
