Description of the painting
Painting birds was something I was inspired to do from the moment I discovered my talent for painting. The raven, in my opinion, definitely needed to be in the collection. In the Bible I know two prominent places where you encounter these birds. Right off the bat you’ll encounter these birds in Genesis 8. Here the raven is sent forth from the arc of Noah to test whether the land was dry enough after the flood. Whilst studying the Old Testament I also found them in 1. Kings 17, here the Ravens come to the aid of Eliah during a famine. Because these beautiful, intelligent black birds also eat carrion it is deemed unclean, but it will always find something. The gospel of Luke reminded me that I worry to much about stuff. The Lord looks after me! Knowing that in my search for who I can still be is very reassuring. Corrie 2.0, me, I’ll find something that works for me, within my new boundaries.
