During the Acrylic April challenge from 2023 I made this very diffuse background and tried to follow the lesson on how to do amazing things with a palette knife. With multiple colours loaded on my knife I remembered the fjords in Norway. Norway has made a big impression on my mind. The memory of the first time I looked around me whilst standing on the precipice of a fjord will always stay with me. I decided to try and capture what looking at those felt like; the enormous rockfaces and the sun glistening on the water, whilst staying within the brief of of the abstract theme.
